Road Trip To Countryside

Today we are leaving Boston and start our journey to Niagara Falls and Washington DC. Since there are 4 of us, we thinking its probably better to rent a car so we can stop by anywhere we want and not depend on public transportation coz its probably wasting time. On the way to Niagara Falls, we decided to stop by in a nice farmhouse to experience living in the countryside. It was a fun trip even though on the way we got a little incident being chase by the police and getting a speeding ticket. I feel bad for my friend coz he end up paying around 250 USD for the fine. We tried to pay half of it but of course he rejected it.

It took around 6 hours but we finally here. The house is quite impressive from the outside, once we arrived a few minutes later the owner Megan greet us. She explain the house surrounding and prepare homemade cookies for us. She also over to make us some breakfast, typical b&b breakfast like french toast, pancakes, waffles and eggs.

Without any more delay we went to Hamilton, home of Colgate University and it has a lot of cute shops right in town. We meet a few people mostly the owner of the shops, I think they rarely see  Asian people around here so they are so curious and asking some questions about where we came from, what brought us here and etc. The people in this town are so nice and polite, it remind me of a fictional town call Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls television series.

Just a few miles from Hamilton, there a nice barbecue restaurant called Ray Brothers BBQ. Many people suggest us to try this restaurant including Megan who said that their ribs amazing. Once we get there we have to wait a least 30-45 minutes since the place is packed. We enjoyed the best full rack ribs, pulled pork and barbecued chicken we have ever had, no wonder the place is packed. Best barbecue ever, that combination of moist, smoky-sweet and full of flavor. Each platter served with two sides and cornbread. Even the sides are so yummy, the potato salad  and beans full of BBQ flavor, a refreshing cucumber salad and great mac&cheese. For dessert we tried the maple bacon cheesecake, a combination of sweet, salty and creamy, where we also celebrated my friend birthday.

When we got back the house looks so creepy since there no light and basically you are in the middle of nowhere without any neighbors with in radius 15 minutes driving plus no signal. Great!! My husband keep talking about Jason movie to scare me of, if I can't sleep tonight I would BLAME him.

Once we are inside the house, its feel completely different so warm and nice decorated. But first things first! Checked and locked all doors and windows for our safety. The first floor has a large kitchen, large table and a living room. The house has some grills and a fully equipped kitchen that we can use if we want. Upstairs are 5 bedrooms. Mine had a private bath and everything look very clean and neat.

In the morning, we prepared our own breakfast since we want to go early. Megan have prepared everything such as yogurt, fruit, dry cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, milk, toast, butter and eggs. After we had had some breakfast, we went to the stable to play with the horses a little bit then saying goodbye to Megan before leaving. NIAGARA here we come!!
