Mont Saint-Michel, France

One of my coworker told me about this beautiful island in Normandy, France calll Mont Saint-Michel. So we decided to take a day trip to there. We took a train from Paris Montparnasse to Dol de Bretagne, and switch to coach from there to Le Mont St Michel. See the timetable here.

Puffy omelets (omelette montoise, or omelette tradition) are Mont St-Michel’s specialty. The first thing you see went you enter the island gate is Restaurant Le Mere Poulard. We really enjoy the food so delicious but also pretty expensive. We order the menu set which include salad, main dish and dessert, cost us 107 euros.

After our stomach is full it's time to explore the island surroundings. The structure of Mont Saint Michel perfectly represents the feudal structure of the medieval age, it just like a fortress in small island. Many visitor was attracted with it's architecture style just like me. In this wall you can find many bars, restaurant and several hotels too but you should not expect to find a budget option anywhere within the walls of the commune. Other main attraction beside the island itself it's the abbey, but since we've been to many churches and abbey, we decide to skip this one and spent our limited time to explore the fortress from the inside and outside.
