Best of Milan City

It's time to say goodbye to Venice and going to Milan. We took train from Venezia St. Lucia to Milan Centrale that afternoon and arrive around 9 pm in Milan. We scheduled our trip like this since the hotel in Venice is so expensive we prefer to stay there 1 night only but got to explore Venice for 1,5 days.

The next morning after breakfast at the hotel, our itinerary today is to go to Church of Holy Mary of Grace(Last supper), Milan Cathedral & Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Church of Holy Mary of Grace
Nearest Station : Cadorna - Metro red line
The main attraction of the church of course the "Last Supper" painting. I saw in many forum asking about alternative to get last supper ticket without any tour, but it seem almost impossible. The official site to purchase the ticket is in here. I already marked my calendar as soon as the ticket can be bought but still within one or two hours all sold out. Horey finally 10 days before our trip we got the ticket online from the official site or you can try Rick Stevens advice "To see Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, it's better to book by phone than online (more days and time slots available). From the US, dial 011-39-02-8942-1146. In Italy, call tel. 02-8942-1146. The website is www.cenacolovinciano.org.".

All of that effort is worth-ed when you see "Last Supper" wall painting, the most incredible masterpiece by Leonardo Da Vinci. You only have limited time to see the painting around 15 minutes and no picture allowed. I only can take picture of the replica of last supper painting. It makes me forgot about my bad experience earlier this morning. We got ripped-off by the lady that sold ticket in the metro kiosk, we bought 1 day pass for metro cost 4,5 euros but instead we got the single ticket that only cost 1,5 euros. We should be more careful when buying something since I heard there are a lot of tourist scams in Europe. We didn't check the ticket since we are in a hurry when we were inside the metro we just realized it, and its too late when we reported it to metro staff there isn't anything they can't do coz we bought from that lady and she said we only give her 3 euros for 2 single ticket. Lesson learned better be careful next time!!

Nearest Station : Duomo - Metro yellowline
Opening Hours  : vary depends on with area, see the detail here
Next destination is Milan Cathedral aka Duomo, when I glimpsed at it its just like a perfect Cathedral. I suggested to explore all of the Cathedral’s interior before heading to the terraces to avoid the crowd since the entrance to Cathedral is free but the terrace cost 7 euros/person using stairs. Walking around on the roof is my favorite part of the whole experience, the views were breathtaking. It’s an amazing thing to do.

Next to Milan Cathedral you could find Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the world oldest shopping mall that sell luxury things such as Gucci, Prada, LV, etc. I didn't come here to shop just window shopping only. I prefer buy things from outlet which is cheaper (I already plan to got to La Vallée Village Outlet in Paris).
