Eternal City of Rome Day 1 Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona and Patheon
We are really exciting to finally visit Europe for the second time. We started our trip from Rome known as Eternal City and one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in Europe. In my imagination Rome will be full of modern building but I was wrong most of the building is old. So I kind of disappointed with the city surrounding, but the historic places is impressive. We only have 3 days to explore this great city, but we didn't do too much or we will be tired and didn't enjoy our holiday. So my advise take your time, do your research to limited the places you want to visit coz you won't be able to fit everything, and don't be afraid about getting lost so people said it the best experience coz you will see more when you got lost. To save money and time you can consider to buy rome pass, which will gave you free entry to the first 2 museum (except Vatican Museum), free use of public transportation for 3 days, and fast track skip lines. Most of the attraction places would be easily reach by bus, but watch out for pickpockets, especially on bus line 64 (which connects Termini Station to the Vatican/Castel Sant' Angelo).
Our itinerary today day is to visited Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona and Patheon.
Castel Sant'Angelo, is actually a museum, fill with painting, portrait and ancient weapon. I never knew it was a museum, I thought it was a church since I saw "Angles & Demons" movie, in the movie they called it "Church of Illumination". Actually I'm also interesting to visit the passetto, a secret passage between Vatican City and the Castel Sant'Angelo, where Popes could escape during bad times (which also I knew from "Angles & Demons" movie), but too bad it's only open during summer visit to this link for more info.

Piazza Navona, oval shape square piazza in Rome. There are no metro stations nearby, but you can easily walk or take a bus. We really enjoy our afternoon walk around the piazza, you will get the atmosphere of Rome here, the weather is so nice and sunny in October. There are many great shops, restaurants, etc nearby.
The Pantheon - temple of Roman Gods is the Roman monument, which only 6-8 minutes walk from Piazza Navona. It is said it have many number of records: the best preserved, with the biggest brick dome in the history of architecture and is considered the forerunner of all modern places of worship. It's a little bit confusing whether it's now a church, temple or just tombs. The dome and the marble floor are fascinating.
