Italian Best Food

I am a huge fans of Italian food, and when it comes to fresh pasta nothing can beats Italy. There are so many restaurants and so many foods to choose from.

Tips:
1. Usually outside each restaurant there is a menu so you can check dishes and prices before entering. I didn't check the price once before entering restaurant near Vatican Musuem, turn out I have to paid 39 euros for precook spaghetti carbonara, precook fettuccine (no meat) and 1 bottle of water.
2. You don't need to tip in Italy, coz most restaurant already add service charge in your bill.

We try everything from pasta to pizza to risotto, see the list:

ANTIPASTI
Bruschetta, one of the most common antipasti in Italy, some restaurant provide package meal during lunch hour include antipasti, pasta & beverage. Love the topping but dislike the bread its so hard to chew that bread.

PASTA
Nothing more delicious than combination of fresh pasta and cheese. There are many option of variety pasta dishes in many restaurant, start from classic tomato spaghetti, bolognese, basil pesto, fettuccine, lasagna, ravioli, even tortellini. My all time favorites are spaghetti ala pesto, ravioli with truffle butter and aglio olio so delicious I could it more and more.

PIZZA
Turn out I don't really like pizza in Italy. I tried several different pizza toppings in restaurant or street vendor, and calzone too.I tried it in several cities like Rome, Venice, Florence, I just didn't get the wow factory I got when eating pasta. I still love pizza hut more in Taiwan. Ckckckck...

RICE
After eating so many pasta and pizza, we kinda miss rice and Italy provide the best delicious rice risotto. I'm totally in love with risotto truffle mushroom, its like a party in my mouth (quote from Gordon Ramsay). Too bad not many restaurant provide risotto menu so we only got a few chance to try this delicious food.

DESSERT & PASTRY
After meal if we are not that full have some room for little dessert, I usually craving for tiramisu or gelato. But since my husband doesn't like cake but huge fans of ice cream most of the time so our choices of dessert always goes to gelato. You can almost find shops that sold gelato in every corner.

Luini, its just like a small version of calzone with many different filling such as melted mozzarella and tomato sauce, to spinach, ham, mushrooms, pesto and even chocolate. This family bakery the most famous place for a quick meal in Milan, you will know this shop after you see the queue in the alley near Milan Cathedral and the square. We found this bakery by accident so glad I could try this delicious pastry.
